Rev. James G. Mullen, Pastor

"And He gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some pastors and teachers; for the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ." (Ephesians 4:11-12)"

Rev. James G. Mullen is the pastor of Kedesh House of Prayer Christian Church. He is the youngest of six born to the late Gospel Radio Announcer Bill “Sparky” Mullen and Dorothea E. Mullen. On May 15, 1993, he married the former Stephanie Hearn.

Rev. Mullen felt his calling to preach the gospel at a very young age; however, he ran from the calling for years.  After finally becoming cornered by the Lord, in 1991, Rev. Mullen totally surrendered his life over to Jesus Christ and answered his call. His favorite scripture is Joshua 24:15, “But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your forefathers served beyond the River, or the gods of the AmoriteRev. James G. Mullens, in whose land you are living; But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord."

On March 7th 1993, Rev. Mullen preached his Initial Sermon, titled “Surrendering All”; the text Romans 12:1-2 was his inspiration for his sermon.  Rev. Mullen was licensed to preach at Brown’s Memorial Baptist Church, under the Leadership of Dr. R. Lee Johnson.

From that point, Rev. Mullen would go on to preach at various churches, always proclaiming God’s Truth, God’s Hope, and God’s Love.

In 1998, Rev. Mullen was ordained to the Gospel. Two years later, in the fall of 2000, Rev. Mullen was led by Jesus, along with several others, to go into prayer about starting a church. The answer they received from the Lord was yes, and on October 15, 2000 Kedesh House of Prayer Christian Church was birthed. His teaching focuses strongly on biblical and personal stewardship and righteousness, through holy living, he is a firm believer in Ephesians 1: 4.  Rev. Mullen believes in the operation of the full five-fold ministry of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  With firm emphasis on spiritual healing, and complete deliverance from the spiritual principalities of the world, Rev. Mullen teaches a strong healing message based on Isaiah 53: 5.

Rev. Mullen also places a strong emphasis on the prosperity of God’s people through tithing and stewardship.  Pastor Mullen teaches his parishioners who they are individually in Christ, empowering them to be over-comers of satan.  He is a strong teacher and advocate of II Corinthians 5:21 and bases his empowering messages on this scripture.

Through his guidance from Jesus Christ, Rev. Mullen has guided his church to spiritual growth and freedom from the traditions and formalities of man’s church by preaching II Corinthians 3:17, “Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.”
